The unit occupies the ground floor of a building in the Gothic Quarter, facing one of the busiest streets in the historic centre. The stone façade and the internal vaults are kept, and the project is set up as an insertion: everything added could be removed without a trace.

The strategy is separation. The exposed stone and the vault are cleaned and left as a continuous backdrop, while the retail programme — counter, display units, shelving — is resolved with free-standing pieces that never touch the historic surfaces. A pale timber floor unifies the ground and sets the route from the entrance to the sales counter, placed at the back so that customers cross the whole shop.

Lighting works on two levels: a warm general light over the product and a grazing light that runs along the stone and makes its texture legible. At the shopfront, the display case is set into the existing opening without altering its frame; at night, with the shop closed, it is the only lit element and turns the façade into the sign.
